Mixed Tree Leaves Briquttes

We have tested ground mixed leaves, primarily oak, with some success.  Generally, the moisture level will initially be too high unless the leaves are dried first.  The briquettes formed so far have held together, but they are not particularly durable.  This may be able to be improved by varying the grind size and moisture, and more testing will be done to determine how the Slugger system will work with leaves.  There is indeed a small amount of grass (switchgrass) mixed in with the leaves in the photo above - we do not feel that such a small amount has any effect but we will be testing leaves extensively in the future.  Currently, "Grass" dies are used for ground, dried leaves.
